Scientific Instrumentation: The R/V Revelle has identical twin quad-processor Sun 450 servers. It also has a large disk farm and 4mm DAT and 8mm Exabyte magnetic tape drives. Sun SPARC-5 and Ultra-10 workstations and IBM compat- ible PCs are available. Output devices include HP-755 and HP-1600 InkJET plotters, an HP 4MV LaserJet (16ppm, 600dpi) printer with output on 8-1/2'x11" or 11"x14" media along with various pen plot- ters. Data are collected from a Simrad EM120 12 kHz, 191-beam 150 degree Bathymetric Mapping System, an Ocean Data Equipment Bathy- 2000 3.5/12 kHz Bathymetric Sub-bottom Survey System, a Knudsen 3.5/12 kHz Sub-bottom Profiler, an Nautronix RS906 long/ultra-short baseline Acoustic Positioning System, an RD Instruments VM-150-18HP broadband and narrowband Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers, an Ashtech 3DF GPS receiver, a Sippican MK-12 Oceanographic Data Acquisition System (XBT), a Geometrics G-886 Marine Proton Magneto- meter and various other data collection devices.
